POLK COUNTY DUI BLOG: Thousands Lose Power Due To Car Crashed By Alleged Drunk Driver

Thousands of residents in Polk County were without power early Sunday morning and now they know why. Apparently 28-year-old Luke Huber crashed his car into a power pole on Old Polk City Road and State Road 33. That caused an estimated 3,500 residents to lose their power for much of the day. It was eventually restored around 9:00 p.m.

According to Bay News 9 Huber has now been arrested and charged with DUI. He was booked into Polk County Jail with one count of driving under the influence. It took utility crews more than 15 hours to get the power pole fixed following the single car accident.
